Our Story
Who am I
Hi, I’m Melia Garza, the owner and licensed esthetician behind Dream Lash & Beauty. I began this journey back in 2020, starting out as a lash tech working from my mom’s house with a big vision and a lot of determination.
Since then, I’ve grown into a licensed esthetician, built my own salon, and now have the privilege of teaching other women how to build their own careers in the beauty industry too. What started small has turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined—and I’m just getting started.
My Purpose
I was heading down the wrong path pretty young, and at 16, I found out I was pregnant. That moment changed everything for me. With my family’s support, I pushed myself to do better—I enrolled in a self-paced high school program and caught up on two years in just six months. I graduated early, and by 17, I had my diploma, my 4-month-old baby girl Milani, and the beginning of my lash business. It wasn’t easy, but becoming a mother gave me a whole new purpose.
Where I Started
After giving birth, I wasn’t able to walk for a period of time due to severe hip pain. During that challenging season, I poured all of my energy into learning lashes. With very limited resources available at the time, I invested in an online course and spent countless hours teaching myself and refining my skills.
Now, the techniques that once took me a year to truly master, I’m able to teach my students in a matter of months—because they have the guidance, structure, and support I didn’t have starting out.
How it's Going
Learning to do lashes was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Today, I run a successful business filled with amazing clients I genuinely look forward to seeing each week. This career has given me the flexibility to take time off when I need it and be present for the moments that matter most in my life.
Most importantly, it allows me to prioritize my daughters, Milani and Amina, while continuing to build a bright future for all of us. I’m able to create my own schedule, grow at my own pace, and do work I’m truly passionate about.
I’m incredibly grateful to have stepped away from the idea of a draining 9–5 and into a career that brings me both purpose and freedom. Being able to invest my time into what truly matters—and build a life I love for myself and my girls—is everything to me.
I’m also passionate about helping other women create that same freedom for themselves. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
